WILSON, WILLIAM “BILLY”

February 11th, 1949 – November 30th, 2023

It is with profound sadness that we share the peaceful passing of William “Billy” Wilson, at the age of 74. To know Billy is to know that he was pure light, love & happiness, which he would let you know multiple times a day … “I’m happy today”. He loved nothing more than meeting and connecting with friends and family. Whether he was with family, working at Arc Industries or NTEC, out with his community groups or bowling, Billy was happiest when he was in the presence of those he cared about. Billy loved to get out and could often be found riding his bike through Beaverdams - stopping to talk to every neighbour along the way.   He loved fishing up north, watching the Leaf’s games and in his downtime watching and re-watching his Dukes of Hazard and Flintstones DVDs. The sadness we feel knowing that the world has lost one of it’s brightest lights can only be surpassed by knowing how fortunate we all were to have had this truly one-of-a-kind soul in our lives. The oldest of 5 children, Billy is predeceased by his parents, Ina and Bill Wilson and his brother, Andy Wilson. Billy is survived by his sisters Darlene (Ron) Davidson, Liz (Rick Storm) Beckett, his brother Wayne (the late Karen) Wilson, and sister-in-law Judy Wilson. Billy will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews, as well as his many, many friends. Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held. A Celebration of his life will be held Saturday, January 13, 2024 at the Canadian Corps Branch 44,7 Clairmont Street, Thorold from 2:00 - 5:00 PM.   All are welcome to attend this open house event, and a short service will be held at 3:00 PM.  In lieu of flowers, donations to Community Living St. Catharines would be appreciated and can be made online at www.clstcatharines.ca or by phone by calling (905) 688-5222 x 283.
