It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of William Leslie ‘Billy Mac’ McNamara, with his family by his side on Friday April 5, 2024, at the Niagara Health System St. Catharines Site. He was born on October 17th, 1948, where he lived a life full of passion, love and devotion to his family and many friends. Proud citizen of Thorold, his affection for sport was enduring and his #21 represents his dedication to a life of ‘team first’ mentality – 2 working as 1 is an unbeatable force. Predeceased by his parents Leslie and Bessy McNamara, his brother Freddy, and his sister Debbie. He will live on forever in the hearts of his wife Billie Lee (Stevens), his two sons David (Helen) and Darryl (Alexandra) along with his six beloved grandchildren; Brady, Vienna, Ayla, Seamus, Ivy, and Auston. Cherished by his siblings; Karen (Tom) Greco, Pat (Carl) Filbert, Cheryl (Doug) Smith, Bobby, and Maureen (Mark) Fluellon. He will always be remembered by his many nieces and nephews, sisters-in-law Marlene Stevens, Donna Saunders (Jeff), Brenda Edonel (late Freddy), and his brother-in-law John Lawrie (late Debbie).

Family will receive friends at the BOCCHINFUSO FUNERAL HOME 2 Regent Street, Thorold on Saturday, April 13th from 1pm-4pm. In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to Jumpstart (jumpstart.canadiantire.ca) that ensures kids without the financial means are able to receive the equipment they need to play sports or The Ronald McDonald House (rmhccanada.ca). These organizations represent two very important support systems to Billy Mac; to help those less fortunate and to provide comfort for families during difficult times.

To honour his memory and legacy the McNamara family will be hosting a celebration of life on Saturday, May 4th from 12pm-4pm at Club Capri (36 Cleveland St. Thorold) and invite you to join us to commemorate the impact Billy Mac had on so many. “Go Leafs Go “.
