TUCKER, WAYNE – Passed away suddenly, on Thursday, April 16, 2026 at Marotta Family Hospital St. Catharines, in his 72nd year. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Alaire (née Secord). Devoted father to Jackie (Dan), Jennie (Jeff) and Jill. Special “Papa Wayne” to Madison, Jackson, Alana and Grace, but predeceased by his grandson Liam. Wayne is also survived by his parents Frank and Doreen; his sister Debbie; brothers Rick (Jo-Anne), Jim (Veronica), Don (Monika); sisters-in-law Arden (Dennis), Marla (John), Kendra (John) and his many nieces and nephews. Wayne was predeceased by his sister Donna. He will be missed by a special circle of friends.

Wayne was the owner and operator of Universal Collision for 47 years. He built his shop from the bottom up; brick by brick with his extended family and friends. People throughout Merritton knew they could rely on his outstanding service. He was always supportive of his community with sponsorships and donations.

Before starting his family in 1981, Wayne was involved with stock car racing at Merrittville, Ransomville and Humberstone Speedways. A dedicated member of the Merritton Lions Club since 1991, Wayne was well known for pulling the parade float with his 1969 Pontiac Parisienne. An avid golfer at Rockway Vineyard Golf Course, Wayne was known for his love of the game and he rarely missed an opportunity to get out and play.

Visitors will be received at Bocchinfuso Funeral Home 2 Regent Street, Thorold on Sunday, April 26, 2026 from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, April 27 at St. Patrick’s Church 31 Chestnut Street, Merritton at 11:00 AM.
