Walter Morasiewicz

MORASIEWICZ, Walter L. Passed away peacefully on Friday, March 10, 2017 at Wentworth Lodge, Dundas, in his 96th year. Walter is predeceased by his loving wife of 61 years, Anne (2009). Devoted father of Paul (Colombe) of Ancaster, Walter (Dianne) of Nanoose Bay, B.C., and Linda (Bill) Sadler of Burlington. Proud grandfather of Katrina and Patrick Morasiewicz, Ryan Morasiewicz, and Bill and Lindsay Sadler. Walter, the eldest of five siblings, is predeceased by his two brothers, Mitchell and Joseph, and two sisters, Mary and Amelia. Growing up in Thorold South he trained as a machinist and electrician, he also served with the Royal Canadian Engineers from 1942 to 1944. Walter and Anne spent 60 years living in Merritton, raising their family. He was an employee at the Beaver Wood Fibre Company for 42 years, retiring in 1986. Walter will always be remembered for generously helping out his children and for being a true gentleman in every respect. A special thank you to Cobblestone Gardens of Thorold, Ontario and Wentworth Lodge of Dundas, Ontario for their extraordinary care over the last seven years. Walter is resting at the BOCCHINFUSO FUNERAL HOME, 2 Regent Street, Thorold. A visitation will be held Wednesday, March 15, 2017, from 12p.m. to 1p.m., followed by a Funeral Liturgy outside of Mass in the funeral home chapel at 1p.m.. Following the service, burial will take place at Victoria Lawn Cemetery, St. Catharines. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
