WINSTANLEY, VERONICA PATRICIA “PAT”- (Retired in 1996 from Stokes Seeds after 23 years of service) Peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family, Pat passed away on Friday, February 20, 2026 in her 89th year. She is reunited with her one and only love, her husband Roy, and her cherished daughter Karen. She leaves behind her children Marlyn (Henry) Grau, Leroy (Wendy), Susan (Charlie) Brown and her son-in-law Ron Elgie. Devoted “Ma” to her grandkids Roy, Andrew (Kelly), Rae-Ann (Chris), Kurt (Liz), Eryn, Wade (Jessica), Daniel and Joey (Jenna). She was a proud Great GrandMA to fifteen, and Great Great GrandMA to one. Pat is survived by her sisters Marlyn (Donald) Dellaire and Shirley (the late Jimmy) Morrison. She is predeceased by her parents Gordon and Veronica Gillard, and her siblings Helen Gillard, Joyce (Syl) LeBlanc, Wilfred (Margie) Gillard and Gordon Gillard. “Auntie Pats” will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews from all across Canada. Pat was a devoted and talented baker who ensured her family never had to prepare their own Christmas treats. Every year, she began assembling beautiful trays of baked goods as early as November. Every one of her grandkids walked into her home with the words, “I’m hungry,” knowing her food was always the best, and none ever left without a cookie in each hand. Pat and Roy cherished their time spent camping with family, creating memories that will be treasured for generations. Pat also had a lifelong love of animals, surrounding herself with a variety of cats and dogs over the years and showering each one with affection. Visitors will be received at BOCCHINFUSO FUNERAL HOME 2 Regent Street, Thorold on Friday, February 27, 2026 from 10:30 AM until Noon, when the Funeral Liturgy Outside of Mass will be celebrated in the Lamb Chapel of the Funeral Home. Pat will be laid to rest with Roy at Lakeview Cemetery. Please consider a donation to the Walker House Niagara Hospice https://www.hospiceniagara.ca/welland/ in Pat’s name, remembering the wonderful care that she and her family received from them. They are angels on earth, and our family could not be more grateful for the love and support they gave.
