Vanda Guarasci

GUARASCI, VANDA (nee Venneri)

January 27, 1941 – December 12, 2024

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts we announce the passing of our mother and Nonna Vanda Guarasci on Thursday December 12, 2024 in her 84th year at the Welland Hospital. Vanda has been reunited with her loving husband Raffaele who passed away only a few short months before her on September 29, 2024.

She is the dearly loved mother of Teresa and Ed Giglia and Sandy and Susan Guarasci. Nonna will forever be in the hearts of her loving granddaughters Vanessa, Jessica, Mikayla, Alexa and Kendra. She has left them with so many wonderful memories that they will carry with them always.

Vanda is survived by her brothers and sisters Lidio Venneri (late Teresa), Emma Nasato (Peter), Fred Venneri (Judy), Anna Roselli (Joe) and Marcella Serravalle (late Lenny). She is also survived by her brother and sister in laws Tony Guarasci (Lena) and Lena Andreola (late Vasco). Vanda will be dearly missed by her many nieces and nephews as well as many cousins. Vanda was predeceased by her parents Alberto and Giovaninna Venneri and her in laws Santo and Teresina Guarasci. Also predeceased by bothers and sisters-in-law Cosmo ( Maria ) Guarasci and Rosina (Domenic) Guarasci.

Vanda was an amazing cook and baker. She loved to garden and she created many beautiful things with her sewing, knitting and crocheting. Her hands were truly blessed. She was the matriarch of the family and had a profound love for her husband, children and grandchildren as well as her brothers and sisters and their families. If someone needed help Vanda was the first one to always be there. Her warmth, generosity and inviting personality will never be forgotten. No one ever left her home hungry.

Vanda always wanted to make sure everyone was well fed so in lieu of flowers we request that you make a donation to your local food bank or drop off a bag of food at your local grocery store's food drive. In honoring Vanda's wishes a private Funeral Liturgy will be held for the family.

We would like to thank everyone who has supported us with prayers, messages, kindness and friendship over the last few months. Special thanks to the many caring staff at the Welland Hospital.
