VENNERI, UGO
(September 13, 1939 – October 3, 2026)
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear Husband, Father and Papa, on October 3, 2026, in his 88th year after. Beloved husband of 62 years to Rosemary née (Bocchinfuso). Dear Father to Louis (Liz) and Marc (Cheryl). Papa to Lucas, Jenna, Austin, Amy and Sarah and brother-in-law to Richard and Bob (Sue) Bocchinfuso. Ugo will be dearly missed by his many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.Ugo is predeceased by his parents, Luigi and Maria and his in-laws Michael and Theresa; siblings, Chiarina (Joe), Lena (Peter), Emma (Frank), Assunta (Armando), Cesare, and Frank (surviving spouse Rose).Ugo was always generous with his guidance and advice and was relied on heavily by his family in times of need. His legacy lives on in his grandchildren, who display many of his great signature characteristics. We could not have had a better husband, father or papa and while we will miss him dearly, we are comforted knowing that he has reunited with his parents and siblings in heaven.Ugo was born and raised in Mangone, Italy, and followed his oldest sister and brother to Canada in 1959, eventually meeting and marrying Rosemary in 1964. Ugo originally made ends meet as a painter before gaining employment at General Motors, where he worked for the next 35 years. His family and friends will best remember Ugo as an expert maker of wine, sauce, cured meats and numerous other food items. Ugo’s other passion was maintaining his very large vegetable and herb garden. He also enjoyed traveling, playing golf, watching hockey and grocery shopping for bargains.Visitors will be received at Bocchinfuso Funeral Home, 2 Regent Street, Thorold on Thursday, October 8, 2026 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Out Lady of the Holy Rosary Church 21 Queen Street South, Thorold on Friday at 11:00 AM. If desired, donations can be made to Walker Family Cancer Centre.
