TRENT ROLAND BROOKES
February 20, 1939 – May 17, 2026
It is with profound sadness that the family of Trent Roland Brookes announce his passing at home with his beloved wife by his side.
Trent will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather. He will be deeply missed by his wife, daughter, his four grandchildren, his brother and family, his extended family, and the many friends whose lives he touched.
A proud Toronto native, Trent attended Etobicoke Collegiate and the University of Toronto, where he played football for the Varsity Blues and earned the degree that launched his career as a Chartered Accountant. It was during his University years that Trent met his future wife at a party at his fraternity, Delta Tau Delta. It was love at first sight and together they shared 63 wonderful years of marriage.
Trent built a distinguished career serving as Vice-President of Finance at both Beckers Lay Tech and Easy Heat. He was respected not only for his intelligence and strong work ethic, but for genuinely caring about the people around him. Even in retirement, he never really stopped being an accountant, always organizing, planning, and approaching life with characteristic precision.
Beyond his professional life, Trent was defined by his love of family, his athletic spirit, and his boundless curiosity. He remained active throughout his life, enjoying football, squash, tennis, curling, and daily workouts. Some of his happiest times were spent vacationing with family and at the family cottage at Cawaja Beach, where generations gathered each summer for beach days, stories, and laughter. He took great pride in his daughters' achievements and cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren. In retirement, he devoted himself to reading, writing, and studying politics, history, and world affairs. Those who knew him will remember his warmth, quick wit, and the gentle humour he brought to everything he did.
Arrangements entrusted to Bocchinfuso Funeral Home. Trent will be laid to rest at a private family service, followed by a celebration of Trent's life. If desired, memorial contributions in Trent's memory may be made toward a commemorative tree or bench at Burgoyne Woods in St. Catharines (contact Bocchinfuso Funeral Home at 905-227-0161) for donation information. Online condolences may be left at www.Bocchinfusofh.com
