VOCELLA, DOMENICO ANTONIO “TONY” - With heavy hearts, we announce the sudden passing of our loving husband, father, and Nonno on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at the age of 82.
Devoted husband to Benedetta “Betty” (née DelDuca) for 60 beautiful years. Adored father to Mario (Ann Marie) and Anna (Brad) Corman. Nonno was extremely proud of his four amazing grandchildren: Matthew, Christopher, Vanessa, and Owen. He will be missed by his fur friend “Charlie”.
Tony was born in the small town of Terelle, Italy, the youngest of six children. In July 1966, Tony left France to be with the love of his life in Canada. It was here that together they built their home and grew their family.
Tony leaves behind his brother Carlo at the remarkable age of 101. He will be sadly missed by his brother-in-law Domenic DelDuca (Judy). He was a special and adored Zio to many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Nazzareno and Annunziata as well as his siblings Tomaso, Maria, Mario and Benedetta.
Tony worked for 32 years at Ontario Paper Mill. He believed deeply in the values of love for family, hard work, and the importance of true friendship. He proudly passed along these values to his children and grandchildren.
In the summer, Tony loved gardening and spending time with friends. Sundays were especially meaningful, as he would connect with his family in Ireland, France, and Italy.
Tony was committed to his faith and could always be found behind the barbeque at the annual Feast of St. Anthony.
He spent his final day doing what he loved the most, sharing coffee with his dear friend, Tony Valente and enjoying afternoon tea with the love of his life.
Visitors will be received at Bocchinfuso Funeral Home 2 Regent Street, Thorold on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 PM. Vigil prayers will be recited at 3:30 PM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church 21 Queen Street South, Thorold on Thursday at 11:00 AM. Rite of Committal Pleasantview Memorial Gardens. If desired, donations to the Diabetes Canada or Heart and Stroke may be left, along with online condolences at www.Bocchinfusofh.com
We would like to extend our gratitude to Dr. Jeremy Child, the Thorold Fire Department and EMS for all of their help and support.
Tony’s love, strength, and devotion to family and friends will live on in all who knew him. He will be forever missed and always remembered. We will love you forever!
