Stanley Chubak

Chubak, Stanley ~ peacefully, at Heidehof Home for the Aged, St. Catharines, on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at the age of 92. Beloved husband of 64 years to Roberta Chubak. Loving father of Theresa Chubak (George Trelford), Sheldon Chubak, Mary (Gord) Cooke, the late Anne Chubak (1966) and special father of Heather (Richard) Lamothe. Grandpa and papa will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Alexis (Chris Eashak) Stoppard, Deidre Meskis, Jessie Stoppard, Keith (Jennifer) Cooke, Robert Cooke and Jeff Meskis and by his great grandchildren Cherise, Cameron, Zachary, Benjamin and Kathleen. Stan is survived by 2 sisters and predeceased by 9 brothers and sisters. He will also be missed by many nieces and nephews. Stan was a Canadian Paratrooper during WWII. He worked for the Ontario Paper Co. retiring in 1982 and was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Holy Name Society and the St. Vincent de Paul Society for many years. Stan was a leader and Cub Master of the Boy Scouts of Canada (Gilwell). He was a founding member of the Ozanam Centre. In addition to all his community service, Stan changed the lives of over 100 children, acting as their foster parent.
