Sophia Lasichuk

LASICHUK, Sophia "Zena" nee Mencinsky –Peacefully, July 11, 2023 at age 99. Zena is predeceased by her husband Larry (2008). Survived by son Andrey and daughter Martha of Bolton. She will be greatly missed by family and many friends as well as family in Ukraine with whom she regularly corresponded. Born in Ukraine, Sophie and her husband immigrated to Canada after WWII settling in Thorold South, and later she relocated to Bolton. As her young family matured, she resumed her technical education and became a medical technologist (RT) and was a long-time employee of Shaver Hospital St. Catharines until retirement in 1989. Visitation at Bocchinfuso Funeral Home, Thorold on Thursday, July 13, 2023 from 10:30 – 11:00 AM and Panachyda to follow in the funeral home chapel. Interment at Lakeview Cemetery to follow.
