In Loving Memory of a Gentle Soul

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of my beloved life partner, Shawn Howell.  He was a son, a brother, a father, a cherished uncle, and a dear friend who left us on Monday, September 29, 2025.  Shawn was a quiet man,an observer of life, whose presence brought calm and steadiness.  He loved to laugh, and if you were fortunate enough to have him in your circle, you knew you were in good company.  He had a tender heart for animals, always ensuring they were cared for. His love and kindness extended beyond his family, leaving a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.  He was a sweet, gentle soul, deeply loved, and he will never, ever be forgotten.

We take comfort in knowing he is no longer suffering. He now rests in the arms of his Creator and has joined our loved ones who have gone before him.  May his memory be eternal, and may he watch over us always. This is the hardest message I have ever had to write, but today, we celebrate Shawn’s beautiful life and the love he poured into all of us.  He leaves behind his devoted life partner, Adonis, her children and grandchildren.  His brother Blair and sister-in-law Carol, their children,  his nephews Scott (wife Trisha-Lee,their children Carter and  Zoe),  his nephew Dean (wife Cindy, children Kyle and Hayley), his brother Boyd, his daughters Stephanie and Tammy,  his aunt Iona Kennedy, many cousins and friends who will forever hold him in their hearts.  Shawn is predeceased by his parents, Felix Howell and Gabriella Kennedy Howell,  his beloved son Matthew,  and his grandparents, aunts, and uncles.

• Viewing: 1:30 pm – 4:30 pm

• Chapel Service: 4:30 pm – 5:30 pm. You can view the ceremony live or on replay at https://funeraweb.tv/en/diffusions/115818.

• Reception: 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm

Interment will follow on Saturday, October 18th at 10:30 am in St. Catharines, Ontario. The procession will depart from Bocchinfuso Funeral Home, 2 Regent Street, Thorold at 10:05 AM to Victoria Lawn Cemetery 431 Queenston Street, St. Catharines.
