Samuel Joshua Greco

GRECO, Samuel Joshua - Peacefully, on Thursday, November 28, 2019. Beloved husband of Madeline (nee Sassi) for 57 years and devoted father to Sandra (Gino) Romano, Lora (Pat) Henneke, and Mark Greco (Karey Taylor), entered into eternity at the age of 86. Very proud and loving Grandpa to Joshua and Andrew Romano, Katrina and Jessica Henneke and Kella Gabor-Greco. Also survived by brother Nick (Sophie) Greco, loving brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Antonio Greco (1965) and Lucia Raimondo (1937), sisters Josephine (Nick) Marchesani, Elsie (Tony) Marino, Edith Rossetto, 2 infant sisters Ester (1932) and Mary (1937) and brothers Danny (Rochell), John (Doreen) and Pat (Yolanda). Sam believed in being an active volunteer within his community participating with many local organizations. Sam was a member of the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus Council 2319 and the Club Roma Choir and Seniors. His volunteering continued until cancer took it all away. Family was everything, including a family of choice with his friends, who meant so much. Relatives and friends will be received at Bocchinfuso Funeral Home, 2 Regent Street, Thorold on Sunday, December 1, 2019 from 2:00 - 4:00 PM and 7:00 - 9:00 PM. Vigil Prayers recited at 3:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, December 2, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church 21 Queen Street South, Thorold.
Rite of committal at Lakeview Cemetery at a later date. Donations in Sam's memory may be made to Hospice Niagara and Holy Rosary Church.
