Listen to Obituary
Marrone, Rosina - It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Rosina on Friday, November 3, 2017 at the St. Catharines General Hospital two weeks before her 101st birthday. Joyfully reunited with her beloved husband, Antonio (1997). Predeceased by her parents Teresa and Angelo Fracassi and sisters Elvira and Giovanna (the late Angelo) Tata and daughter Teresa. Cherished mother of Joanne (Vince) Minicucci, Michael, Theresa (Roger Huard) Loucks, Nino, Ida (the late Ward) Hunt and Margie (Tony) Raimondo. Dear mother-in-law of Anne Marrone. She will be deeply missed by sisters-in-law, the late Teresina (the late Donato) Iamonaco, Maria (the late Domenico) Ricciuto, Maria (the late Giovanni) Marrone and Vincenza (the late Giuseppe) Marrone. Proud nonna of many grandchildren whom she helped raise and many great-grandchildren. She will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Rosina immigrated in 1953 from Limosano, Italy to Canada with her five children where her husband Antonio waited for her. She enjoyed baking, cooking, gardening, reading , telling stories about the old country to the grandchildren and basking in the hot sun on her front step. Rosina was a faithful parishioner of Holy Rosary Church. She was determined to stay in her own home which she did with the great help from caregivers Carolyn and Linda to whom we give many thanks. We also thank her former doctor, Dr. Paul Keeley for his many years of great care and her present doctor, Dr. M. Jei Almdhem, Sister Maria for bringing communion each month, CCAC, ParaMed, Bayshore, Henderson's Pharmacy and the staff at S.C.G.H. A special thanks to neighbours Ed and Janice for their friendship and to Ed for keeping the driveway clean each winter. Also, thank you to Dean for taking such great care of the lawn and for being a good friend. At her 100th birthday party last year, Mom forgot to thank her guests for coming and wanted to tell them that she hoped they too would all live to be 100. Friends will be received at the BOCCHINFUSO FUNERAL HOME, 2 Regent Street, Thorold, from 5:00 - 9:00 p.m. on Monday, November 6, 2017. Vigil prayers will be recited at 7:00 p.m.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated at OUR LADY OF THE HOLY ROSARY CHURCH, 21 Queen Street South, on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. Rite of Committal will be held at Lakeview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Holy Rosary Church Building Fund, would be appreciated by the family. On-line condolences and donations may be made at www.bocchinfusofh.com
