Rosaria Patane

PATANE, Rosaria (Rose) January 11, 1929 - January 4, 2017. Many people say - there is no love like a mother's love, so today it is with heavy hearts that we sadly announce the passing of our beloved mother, nonna and friend. She entered into heaven's gates peacefully surrounded by all of her family on January 4, 2017. Mother is predeceased by her husband Domenico (2002) as well as many brother's and sister's in her hometown of Bagnara, Reggio, Calabria. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and cousins. Mom was a lifelong resident of Thorold and was a parishioner of Holy Rosary Church. Survived by her sons Vincent (Broc), John (Anne) Patane and her daughter Maryann. Loving nonna to Brandon and Matthew to whom she absolutely treasured. Our mother prided herself in always putting her family first. Mom was as dignified as she was beautiful. A woman with a heart of gold. She was an honourable woman and unselfish in every way. She taught us to persevere and be strong, Mother we will miss you dearly. We wish to thank all the wonderful nurses and doctors at GNGH for their wonderful care during this difficult time. Friends will be received at the BOCCHINFUSO FUNERAL HOME, 2 Regent Street, Thorold, from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Sunday. Vigil Prayers will be recited at 8:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 21 Queen Street South, on Monday, January 9, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. Rite of Committal at Lakeview Cemetery.
