Soyka, Ronald Allan "Turk" ~ peacefully, Turk lost his valiant battle with prostate cancer while surrounded by family and friends at the Hotel Dieu Shaver Hospital, on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at the age of 58. Cherished companion of Andrea Etmanskie. Ron is survived by his loving daughters, Carly (Kyle Pula) and Holly (Justus Duntsch) along with grandson Hayden. He is predeceased by his parents Sylvia (1982) and Tony (2008). Ron will be greatly missed by his brothers and sisters, Tom (Ellen), Virginia (David Gillan), Robert (Donna), and Beverly (Larry Kamineski). Uncle Ron will be lovingly remembered by his nieces and nephews, Matthew, Sarah, Keith, Kate, Shawn and Patrick. He will also be sadly missed by the extended Etmanskie Family. Ron also leaves behind his faithful and loyal companion "Buddy" who guarded his bed daily during his final months. He will be fondly remembered by Gerri Soyka and the Miller Family. Ron retired from General Motors in October 2012 after 37 years spent as a machine repairman and then a maintenance supervisor. As a friend of Bill W.'s and an avid cyclist, Ron touched the lives of many people from all walks of life. His sense of humour and big heart were greatly appreciated by those who knew him. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Luce and all the 2 West nursing staff who showed such kindness and compassion in Ron's final months at the Hotel Dieu Shaver Hospital.
