Ronald William Mcmullen

McMullen, Ronald William Peacefully, surrounded by his family at the St. Catharines General Hospital, on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at the age of 85. Devoted husband of 46 years to Darlene (nee Tobodo) McMullen. Supportive father to Bill (Christine) McMullen, Colleen (Bill) Bartolini, Christopher (Andrea) McMullen, Carrolyn McMullen and Susan (Steve) Canton. Loving Granddad to Nicholas, Alyssa, Dean, Liam, Sydney, Erin, Paige, Meghan and Jessica. Predeceased by his parents, William and Edith McMullen and by his brothers-in-law, Gerald Mulligan and John Birney. Big brother to Betty Mulligan and Judith Birney. Brother-in-law to Danny and Ginette Tobodo. In addition to his employment with Ontario Hydro, Ron worked for 30 years as a long distance truck driver with various trucking companies. He always maintained a high work ethic, which he has passed along to his children. A gifted story-teller, he took pride in educating his children and grandchildren on life's experiences, with his own personal flare! During his retirement years, Ron enjoyed building his model train collection, watching old John Wayne movies and spending quality time with family while taking trips to Sudbury, Florida and Connecticut. A special thank you to the doctors and nurses at the NHS- St. Catharines Site, for their excellent care, and also to Dr. Tatzel for his care and support over the years. In accordance with Ron's wishes, cremation has taken place. Arrangements are entrusted with the BOCCHINFUSO FUNERAL HOME. Ron's family would like to invite friends and family to celebrate his life on Saturday, March 4, 2017 from 1-4 p.m. at Club Capri, 36 Cleveland Street, Thorold. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Hospice Niagara or to Canadian Tire Jumpstart, would be appreciated by the family.
