Ronald Franklin Lewis

LEWIS, Ronald Franklin - Passed away peacefully at the Westpark Health Centre on Tuesday, July 19, 2016. Ron Lewis of St. Catharines in his 84th year, leaves behind his adored wife of 62 years and best friend Pat Lewis. World's best dad to Shelley (Blaise Thomas) and Lori (Lorne Gocking). Best Bompa Buddy to Scott Thomas (Stacey) and loving Poppa to Melissa (Kevin Maddalena) and Diana (Dave Stares). Loving great grampa to Haydn, Nolan, Sophia and Nathan. Son of the late Stan and Ella Lewis. Dear brother of Donna (Dave Hale), Heather (Doug Konkle) and the late Jack Lewis, Bill Lewis (Carol) and Anna Mae (Wayne Bessey). Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ron was a meat cutter for over 50 years and is still remembered by many as the smiling face behind the counter at Buehler's in downtown St. Catharines. He was a "Thorold Boy" who worked tirelessly from the age of 12, while still finding time to skip classes from the top floor of Prince of Wales School (an open window was involved as well as his brother Billy), yet is still fondly remembered by grade 2 teacher Jessie Dundas. Ron was a lifelong member of St. John's Church in Thorold and an enthusiastic member of the Senior Citizens Group. Friends will be received at the BOCCHINFUSO FUNERAL HOME, 2 Regent Street, Thorold, from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. & 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Thursday, July 21, 2016.
A memorial service will be held at the CHURCH of SAINT JOHN THE AVANGELIST, 12 Carleton Street South, Thorold, on Friday, July 22, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. If desired, memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society, would be appreciated by the family.
