Roberta Luciani

LUCIANI, Roberta (Bobby) (nee Campbell) In her 80th year, peacefully and with dignity and courage at home on May 18. Beloved wife of Joseph Luciani, who held her hand until the end. Lovingly remembered by daughters Amy (René Lemay) and Angela Luciani and grandchildren Brigitte, Jason and Bailey Lemay. Survived by sister Margaret (Greta) Robertson and predeceased by sister Louise Campbell. Auntie Bobby to numerous nieces and nephews, who will cherish the memory of being called chicken. Roberta will also be sadly missed by family in Edinburgh, Scotland and Knysna, South Africa. Roberta came to Canada at the age of 19 and found a job, a home and her soul mate within 24 hours of arriving in Thorold, where she would spend the rest of her life. She was an exceptional secretary at several local law firms and at Brock University. Her home was always a hub for visitors to Thorold and she was never happier than when she was holding court, surrounded by family. In her retirement years Roberta was an avid and enthusiastic member of the Thorold Monday Morning Quilters. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has already occurred. A funeral mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church in Thorold at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 10, 2017, with a reception to follow at Club Capri, 36 Cleveland St,, Thorold. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Walker Family Cancer Clinic or Princess Margaret Cancer Centre would be appreciated.
