WEIR, Robert Emile (Canadian Veteran, Past President and Life Member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #138, Merritton) – Peacefully at his residence with family by his side on Thursday, December 2, 2021. Bob Weir of Thorold in his 78th year. Devoted husband of 58 years to Doris (Dennis). Dear dad to Bob Jr. (Nancy), Sandra Weir and the late Billy Weir. Loving papa to BJ (“B”). Brother of Paul Weir (the late Sharon) and the late David Weir. Brother-in-law to Shelley Weir and Joan Cabana (the late Roger). Uncle Bob will also be missed by Rick Cabana (Wendy), Randy Cabana (Mary), Brian Weir, Carrie-Lynn (Gary Gosselin) and many cousins and friends on both sides of the border. Friends will be received at the BOCCHINFUSO FUNERAL HOME, 2 Regent Street, Thorold, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. & 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 7, 2021. All Covid protocols must be adhered to including the use of masks and physical distancing. Due to COVID restrictions, Immediate family and members of the Royal Canadian Legion will honour Past President Bob with a Legion Service. Private Family Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated. All are welcome to attend the Rite of Committal at Lakeview Cemetery, Thorold on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at 11:45 a.m. Memorial donations to the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #138 Poppy Fund would be appreciated by the family.
