Rapattoni, Robert D. ~ we announce the passing of Robert D. Rapattoni, on Thursday, March 5, 2009 at the age of 79. Beloved husband of 52 years to Esther (Ralston) Rapattoni. Loving father of Joanne (Ron) Cartmell, Paul (Donna) Rapattoni, Phil (Kelly) Rapattoni, Christine (Herb) Ledwez, Dianne (Dean) Laveck. Poppa will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his grandchildren James, Joseph, Shane, Danny, Derek, Kurt, Theresa, Michael, Becky, Brittany, Travis, Kevin and Leah. Predeceased by parents Costantino (1957) and Adele (2001), sister Mary Theresa (1939) and brother Gabriel (1988) survived by his wife Florence. Dear brother of Tony (Marilyn) and Jack (Lillian). Dear cousin of Primo (Julie) Canto, Veronica Mastroianni and Mary (Archangelo) Fiorillo. He will also be missed by many nieces and nephews. Robert was the son-in-law of the late George and Essie Ralston and brother-in-law of Herb (Hazel) Ralston, Nora (the late Pat) Kenny, the late Irene (the late Sydney) Bayley and the late Mary Ellen Ralston. Robert was born and raised in Thorold, educated at St. Michael's College in Toronto and Notre Dame in Welland. He was employed as CEO at local credit unions for more than 25 years, retiring in 1991. Robert "RAP" loved a good card game and was an active member of the St. Catharines Cribbage League. He was also an honorary life member of the Canadian Corp Unit #44, Thorold for services rendered. Robert was a lifelong parishioner of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, Thorold where he served as an altar boy for 15 years. He was also an honorary life member of the Knights of Columbus, Council #2319, Thorold.
