It is with tremendous sadness that we share the peaceful passing of Rita Perri (Caputo) whose first breath of life began on January 18, 1939, in Cosenza, Italy.
On August 2, 2025, in her 86th year, Rita’s loving Mother Maria and Father Armando welcomed her into their awaiting arms and into God’s Heavenly Kingdom.
Rita and her loving husband Armando Perri cherished their 63 years together and were inseparable as they enjoyed their days side by side, savouring each others company in the simplest of joys. Their marriage is a true testament of a love story rooted in devotion and loyalty.
Her loving children, Renato Perri (Annette) and Rose Gentilcore (Mario) are blessed to have her as a guiding light of love. Mama nurtured us with kindness, embraced us with unconditional love, and we are forever grateful that God chose her to be ours through the years, now, and for all eternity.
Rita’s heart was joy-filled when surrounded by her beautiful grandchildren Kristin (Alex), Travis, Allison (Michael), Lucas and her adoring great-grandchildren Khloe and Aidan. Nana always waited at the door with open arms, an abundance of kisses, and a table ready for a feast.
She will be cherished by her siblings Franco (Rosa), Palmina (Armandino) and Giuseppe, along with her nieces and nephews who will hold the memories they shared through the years warmly in their hearts.
To be in the presence of Rita, was to be in the presence of kindness, sincerity, compassion, and unconditional love. All who have been blessed to be a part of Rita’s journey have encountered a pure selfless soul who welcomed you with gentle eyes and a smile that remains in your hearts forever.
Rita gave generously, loved whole-heartedly and never expected anything in return. To know Rita, was to know her humbleness and simple joys in life as she could be found tending to the garden, knitting a pair of slippers, or in the kitchen cooking or baking, for to her food was love.
She was a devout parishioner of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church in Thorold and when attendance could no longer be made in person, her faith remained strong as she prayed daily in the comfort of her home. Her strong faith resonated not only in her words and gentle gestures, but reverently as she sat with her rosary in her hands and offered her prayers for her family and anyone in need of God’s grace.
My Wife, my Mama, my Nana, my sister, my Zia, and my Friend, your love will live forever in our hearts and shine brightly in all that we see, in all that we say, in all that we do, and in all that we feel.
