Richard John Redekop

Redekop, Richard John "Rick" ~ March 18, 1944 - March16, 2013 While vacationing in Florida this past January, Rick became very ill and while there was diagnosed with a very advanced cancer. Rick met this challenge with courage and optimism. His wonderful sunny disposition never wavered. It is with great sadness that we announce that Rick's fight on this journey ended peacefully, with his loving family by his side, Saturday, March 16, 2013 at the age of 68. Cherished husband, soul mate and best friend of Jeannie. Loving father of Jodie (Kevin) and Scott (April) and stepfather of Danielle. Adored Opa of Mackenzie, Ava, Abbey, Jake and Faye. Dear brother of the late Ron (1983) survived by his wife Gail, Terri (David) and Gerry (Marilyn). A much loved "Uncle Rick" of many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Henry (2009) and Erna (2 012). Rick was born in Vineland and has lived his life in the Niagara Region. He was well known as a builder and with his brother Ron, they formed Redekop Builders. Later, Rick changed course and entered the world of real estate. He joined Royal LePage in April of 1993 where he became a "House Sold Name" and never looked back. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. Janice Giesbrecht and Dr. Samuel Puvendran for their sincere care and compassion. Rick was blessed with a wonderful family and many good friends, "Yeah Team!".
