Raffaele 'Ralph' Paolone

PAOLONE, Raffaele "Ralph" It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Ralph on Wednesday, December 14, 2016, in his home at the age of 86. Beloved husband for 67 years of Nancy (née Ruta). Loving father of Dr. John (Gina) Paolone, Mary Paolone (Myron Michael) and Thomas (Sera) Paolone. Proud Nonno of Danielle, Stephanie, Micaela and Arianna. Dear brother of the late Domenico and Frediana Paolone, the late Maria Antonietta Paolone, Peter (Maralyn) Paolone, Ida (the late Tony) D'Onofrio and Angelina (Jerry) Teriaca. He will be sadly missed by his nieces, nephews, family and friends. Ralph immigrated to Canada on June 7, 1951. He worked at Ontario Paper Co. for 36 years from February 1952 until his retirement on March 1, 1988. He was a founding member of Club Castropignano serving on the committee for 10 years and was the club President in 1984. He was an honourary member of the Knights of Columbus, a dedicated parishioner of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church and many church groups. He was also a member of the Feast of the Assumption since 1968 (president from 1984-2015). Ralph also played the trumpet in the Thorold Reed Band for 10 years (1954-1964). Mr. Paolone is resting at the BOCCHINFUSO FUNERAL HOME, 2 Regent Street, Thorold. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 16, 2016 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Vigil Prayers will be recited in the funeral home on Friday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at 9:30 a.m., at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 21 Queen Street South, Thorold. Rite of Committal will follow at Lakeview Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be given to Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church or Heart Niagara.
