PROVENZANO: Giovanni "John" - Peacefully with his family by his side at Hotel Dieu Shaver Hospital on Monday, September 28, 2015. Giovanni, born on September 17, 1921 in Filadelfia, Italy, moved to Niagara Falls in 1953, and then on to North Bay where he worked for Ontario Northland Railway for many years, and returned to Thorold later in life. Dear husband of the late Maria. Devoted father to Joanne (Uli) Kuehnen and the late Antonietta (surviving spouse Maurice Turgeon). Nonno to David, Natasha and Cassandra. Brother to Francesco (Pina), Rosa (Giovanni) Caruso, Anna (The late Pietro) Anello, Carmine (The late Ida), Vittoria (Giovanni) Caruso and the late Antonio (Antonia). Giovanni will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at Bocchinfuso Funeral Home 2 Regent Street, Thorold on Thursday, October 1, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Vigil Prayers will be held at 3:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church 21 Queen Street South, Thorold at 10 a.m. on Friday. Rite of Committal at Lakeview Cemetery. If desired, donations in memory of Giovanni may be made to the Hotel Dieu Shaver Foundation.
