BOEKESTYN, PETER MARTIN JOHN June 25, 1958-June 23, 2022 It is with great sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of Peter on Thursday, June 23, 2022 shy of his 64th birthday. Pete passed away peacefully surrounded by his girls. Beloved husband of Janice for 38 years and loving Dad to Jenna (James) and Tamara. Opa will be missed dearly by his grandson and best buddy, Jaxon as well as his furry four-legged companion, Vinny. Pete is survived by his father, Pieter and his siblings Barry (Kelly), George, Jim (Joanne), Rita (Phil), and John. Brother-in-law to Susanne Turcotte and Jennifer Boekestyn. Uncle Pete will be missed by his many nieces and nephews; Brandi, James (Beth), Christopher, Matthew (Emily), Jacob, Michael (Emma), Daniel (Ashtyn), Keith, Bryan, Cameron (Amy), Pierce (Jessica), Tyler (Mackenzie). Great Uncle Pete to Isaiah, Ryder, Coban, Kylee, Henry, Charles and Bohannon. Predeceased by his mother, Johanna (December 6, 2021), father and mother-in-law, Patrick and Mary Boyle, and brother-in-law, Brian Turcotte. Remembered fondly by many aunts, uncles and cousins from Niagara, Brockville, Alberta and Holland. Pete “Bogey” worked at General Motors for many years. He loved to play a good game of baseball back in his day and was an avid Montreal Canadiens fan (Go Habs Go! Stanley Cup 2023?). Pete was a skilled handyman and could fix anything that was broken. He loved AC/DC and a good coffee cake. A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 27, 2022 at Bocchinfuso Funeral Home, 2 Regent Street, Thorold at 12:00 noon. Cremation has taken place.
