DeGASPERIS, PASQUALE “PAT” - It is with profound sadness that the family of Pat DeGasperis announce his peaceful passing on September 4, 2024 at Meadows of Dorchester in his 99th year. Pat was a loving husband, devoted father, adored grandfather and great-grandfather. He is reunited with his beautiful wife Amerina who he missed dearly. Much loved father of Dan (Judy), Silvio, Frank and Dora (Rob Lucchetta). Adoring Grandpa of Michael, Mariesa (Rich), Emily, Mikaela, Rachel and great Grandpa to Mikey, Ryan and Kaia. Dear brother of Frank (Dorothy), and brother-in-law of Anna (the late Armando) and Santino (the late Phyllis), Domenico (Maria) and Vincenza (the late Ricardo). Pat is predeceased by his siblings Aurora (Vincenzo), Bob (Angela), Pietro (Ersilia), Amleta (Pietro), Filomena (Carlo), Lidia (Guido), Blegina (Carlo) and Rosa (Gino) and his brother-in-law Larry. He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, neighbours and friends. Pat lived his life with perseverance and dedication. He left his hometown of Castelliri, Italy at a young age to begin a new life in Canada. He worked at Abitibi Provincial/Fraser Paper Mill for 34 years. During his years of retirement, he gave his time and handyman skills to help out his children and his extended family. It gave him great joy to lend a helping hand and share his knowledge. Pat loved sharing his finest homemade wine and the bountiful harvest of his garden with family. During his free time he thoroughly enjoyed playing his guitar, accordion, mandolin and singing songs from his younger years. The family is grateful for the many talents that Pat has shared with us. They are more precious than anything in this world. The family would like to thank the Trillium Unit at Meadows of Dorchester for their exceptional care; especially in Pat’s final few weeks. During his stay, he thoroughly enjoyed sitting in the courtyard, listening to entertainment and showing off his bocce skills. Family and friends will be received at the BOCCHINFUSO FUNERAL HOME, 2 Regent Street, Thorold from 5:30 - 8:00 PM on Monday, September 9, 2024 and from 11:30 AM -12:30 PM on Tuesday, September 10, 2024. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 1:00 PM, at OUR LADY OF THE HOLY ROSARY CHURCH, 21 Queen Street South, Thorold. Rite of Committal at Pleasantview Cemetery.
