SOCCIO, Olga Maria - It is with broken hearts that Olga's family announce the passing of a kind and gentle soul.
Olga Soccio (Maletta) of Thorold in her 81st year, was an amazing wife and mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She built a life and home that will always be remembered as happy and full of love. Dearly missing her is her husband Mike Soccio. Loving mother and best friend of Toni (Serge Carpino), Terri (Ross Boncore), Rosa Risi, Michael Soccio (Brenda) and her son-in-law Gino Risi. Loving nanna of Christopher, Taryn, Candace, Adam, Christian, Stefan, Matija and Eden. Sister of Phil Maletta, Donna (Larry Scappaticci), Rose (the late Tony LaScala), Vanda (Chris Soccio), Sylvia (Greg Hynde), John Maletta (Sandra), her sister by choice Carol (Tony Verde) and by her brother in law Benny Soccio. Olga will also be missed by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Teresina and Giovanni Maletta, her special Zia Rosanna Guarasci and her in-laws Antonietta and Leonardo Soccio. The family would like to thank her sisters for their never ending love and support, which helped make this difficult time a little easier. Thanks to Dr. Preston Zuliani for his care and compassion and to caregivers, Myra and Mary Jane and nurses Jan and Meghan. Friends will be received at the BOCCHINFUSO FUNERAL HOME, 2 Regent Street, Thorold, from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. & 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 16, 2016 with Vigil Prayers recited at 3:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at OUR LADY OF THE HOLY ROSARY CHURCH, 21 Queen Street South, on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Rite of Committal at Lakeview Cemetery.
