ZOCCOLI, MICHAEL JOSEPH (attended Monastery of Mount Carmel as Carmelite seminarian from 1944 to 1949 overlooking Niagara Falls; Club Capri member since January 1951; one of the original founders for Thorold girls Softball "Bird League" he coached, organized, prepared fields and umpired in the house league and travel teams, he coached Softball teams winning championships at three (3) levels including the 1955 Ontario juvenile Championship Team; retired foreman from Thorold Exolon abrasive plant with 34 years of service from 1956 to 1990; inducted into Thorold "Runway of Recognition" in March 2011 at Club Capri with plaque in his honour, for his contributions, hanging at the new Thorold hockey arena; Eating savory spaghetti, sweet sauce was one of his fondly cherished meals.) - Tranquilly at home on Tuesday, June 2, 2015. Mike "Zoc" Zoccoli of Thorold in his 86th year. Son of the late Stephano Zoccoli and Elizeabetta Romeo from Mammola Italy (formerly Iannizzi). Brother of the late Carmel (Zoccoli) (Ned Wilson), Josephine (Frank Citrigno) and Dominic Iannizzi (Mary). Missing Uncle Mike: Liz, Gina Marie, David, Lou, Jim, Gary, Ron, Don, Bob and the late Patrick and dear friends Marguerite, Wayne, Pauline, Albert, Antonetta, Jana, Brian, Fran, Grace, Maude, Eddy, Myrian, Marco, Soriya and the late Sam Raimondo, Mary, Tony, Ralph, Trombone and Jacks. Friends will be received at the BOCCHINFUSO FUNERAL HOME, 2 Regent Street, Thorold, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, June 7, 2015 with vigil prayers held at 3:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at OUR LADY OF THE HOLY ROSARY CHURCH, 21 Queen Street South, Thorold, on Monday, June 8, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. followed by cremation. If desired, memorial donations to the Monastery of Mount Carmel (cheques payable to the Society of the Little Flower), would be appreciated by family. A thank you to healthcare staff: PSWs (Personal Support Workers), Nurses, Administrators and Doctors for their TLC (Tender Loving Care).
