Michael George Conley

CONLEY, Michael George - At his residence, with his family by his side, on Wednesday, October 12, 2016. Mike Conley of St. Catharines, in his 71st year. Devoted husband of Betty (Matthews). Loving father of Brenda (Sean Coffey) of Beamsville and Kristen (Tim Bach) of Midhurst. Loving grandad of Kate, Matthew, Nolan and Evie. Son of the late Dr. Alfred and Sally Conley. Dear brother of Peter Conley (Marg) of St. Catharines, Nancy (Don Treen) of Ottawa and Judy (Bruce Downs) of St. Catharines. Brother -in-law to Bruce and Susan Coombe. Uncle Mike will be sadly missed by Sharon and Jenny, Geoffrey, Alex and Carley, Robert and Anna, Judith and Wendy and his ten great nieces and nephews. Mike received his education through Thorold schools, Albert College in Belleville, New York City Institute of Photography and Brock University Teachers College. He enjoyed a fulfilling career with the Oakville Daily Journal Record, The St. Catharines Standard for 26 years as an award winning Photo Journalist and with the Lincoln County Board of Education as a Learning Resource Teacher. Mike was an avid history buff and would very often be found volunteering at the Welland Canal Lock 3 Museum in St. Catharines, where many of his photos are cataloged.
Friends are invited for a time of remembrance to be shared at the Lock 3 Museum, 1932 Welland Canal Parkway, St. Catharines, on Sunday, October 30, 2016 from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. As a dedicated blood donor, on his way to his 150th donation, you can honour Mike by giving blood.
