Maylia ("May" or "Lola") Crane
May 3, 1948 - July 29, 2018
After battling cancer for seven years, our special Lola passed in peace and with family by her side, at Hospice Niagara in St. Catharines, Ontario. She was lovingly cared for in her passing, after a lifetime of caring for others, professionally as a Registered Nurse, voluntarily through local churches, and as a beloved mother, grandmother, wife, daughter, sister, and friend. She was a curious learner, a world traveler, a nature lover, an entrepreneur, a musician, and so much more.
She is survived by daughter Mary Beth Crane, son-in-law James Kennedy and granddaughters, Megan, Myella and Ardyn, daughter Rachel Sarah May Crane, son-in-law Mario De Divitiis and granddaughter, Annabella May, as well as family in the Philippines, Europe, Australia and throughout North America, and countless friends in several different communities. She was known for making instant connections with people, from all walks of life, through her compassion, wit, and winsome charm. She left this earth loving and being loved by many. May her love, light, and undeniable faith in God continue to inspire us all.
Thank you to the Walker Family Cancer Centre, her Palliative Care team, Hospice Niagara and Pastor Les and Kerry Boyd for providing steadfast support through her journey to the end.
In lieu of flowers, her family asks that your direct your resources to the May Crane Fund via the Niagara Community Foundation (allocated to Grace Community Church, Niagara Health System, and Brock University) and/or Hospice Niagara.
