BOYD, MAUREEN (nee Gallagher) ~ Peacefully, with the love of her family surrounding her, on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at Linhaven in St. Catharines. Born July 2, 1939 in Partick, Glasgow, Scotland to Francis (1997) and Jane (nee Clark) (1986). Maureen was the first daughter born after brothers, Frank (2011) and Robert (1993). Sisters Jean (2010) (George 2010) and Georgia (John 2003) proudly called Maureen their big sister. Maureen lived vibrantly, embracing the opportunity to travel to America to work in New York and later Texas, for three years. Upon her return to Scotland, she met and married her husband of 59 years, Andy (2022). As newlyweds, Andy and Maureen embarked on a new journey after the birth of their first child, Sharon-Rose (Tom), moving to Toronto, Canada in 1965. Andy and Maureen welcomed four more children, Stephen (Francine), Michael (2025) (surviving spouse Abbie), Jean Michele (Luis) and Gerard (Christa). Preferring a quieter area to raise their family, Andy and Maureen settled in St. Catharines, creating a home that hosted multitudes and was the gathering place of the family at 40 Townline for over four decades. Cameron, Mark, Connar, Meaghan-Rose, Emily, Rachel, Andrew and Emerson filled the home with laughter and Maureen’s heart with love as she doted on her eight grandchildren baking, singing, dancing and cooking favourite meals for all after adventures on the ‘City Bus’ to Port Dalhousie, Choo Choo Charlies or the Pen Centre. Myer, Stetson, Ramsay-Rose and Wyatt, Maureen’s great-grandchildren, were proof that Granny’s love knew no limit. Many nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces were celebrated and deeply loved as each held a special spot in Maureen’s heart. Family meant the world to Maureen, and we were blessed to have had her as our matriarch, leading by example the importance of compassion, faith, integrity, laughter and a strong cup of tea along the path of life.

Maureen and her children are forever grateful for the excellent care received from the entire team, which quickly became family, at Brock Unit, Linhaven, St. Catharines. In lieu of flowers, donations in Maureen’s honour can be made to Linhaven (to either the Residents Fund or the Staff Fund) to support the incredible and amazing work they do.

Visitors will be received at BOCCHINFUSO FUNERAL HOME, 2 Regent Street, Thorold on Thursday, January 8, 2026 from 3:00-6:00pm. Vigil prayers will be recited at 4:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church 21 Queen Street South, Thorold on Friday, at 11:00 am. Rite of Committal at Lakeview Cemetery, Thorold. Online condolences and donations may be left at www.Bocchinfusofh.com
