Durbiano, Mary Peacefully surrounded by her family, our beloved mother passed away on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at Tufford Manor, in her 97th year. Mary has been reunited with her husband Ottavio (1974). Loving mother of Frank and Sandra (Greg) McDonald. Cherished Nonna of Ashley (Dan) Jordan, Justin (Carly) McDonald and Kevin. Dear sister of Peter (the late Lina) Serravalle and Joe (Chiarina) Serravalle. Mary will be fondly missed by her nieces, cousins and many friends. Born in Mangone, Calabria, Italy, Mary came to Canada in 1950. She was a dedicated parishioner of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church for many years. Mary had a flair for fashion and was a talented dressmaker and seamstress. She enjoyed music, dancing and socializing with family and friends. A special thank you to the nursing staff and personal support workers at Tufford Manor, for their care and support. Mary's family will receive friends at the BOCCHINFUSO FUNERAL HOME, 2 Regent Street, Thorold on Sunday, April 2, 2017, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Vigil Prayers will be recited in the funeral home at 3 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 21 Queen Street South, Thorold on Monday, April 3, 2017, at 11 a.m. Rite of Committal to follow at Lakeview Cemetery. Memorial donations in memory of Mary may be given to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the charity of your choice.
