Mary Checaloski

Checaloski, Mary ~ peacefully, at the Plummer Memorial Public Hospital, Sault Ste. Marie on Monday, February 28, 2011 in her 100th year. Beloved wife of the late Edward Checaloski (1978). Loving mother of Tom (Bev) Check, Margie (Lorne) Duguid and Rosemary (Greg) Alexander. Predeceased by daughters Shirlee Wallace and June Crowe. Grandma will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Leslie, Melissa, Edward, Abbey, Kyra, Siabhan, John Jr., Johnna, Steven, James, Mari and Catharine and by her great grandchildren Grayson, Tsala, Austin and Sonny. Mary will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Predeceased by parents Vasile and Annie Cernusca, brothers Alec Cernusca and John Chernusky and sister Florence Walker. Mary was a devoted mother to her family and a caregiver to all who needed her. Her passion was cooking for her family especially her wonderful cabbage rolls and perogies and enjoyed her spare time doing craftwork with ocean shells, making many things such as jewelery boxes that will be forever keepsakes.
