RUGGI, MARIALIBERA (née D’Amico) –Peacefully, on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at Millennium Trail Manor, surrounded by the love of her family, in her 94th year. She is now reunited with her beloved husband, Gabriele. A devoted mother to her four sons and three daughters-in-law, a proud and loving Nonna to eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren with one on the way, and one great-great-grandchild. She will also be fondly remembered by her large extended family in Canada, Italy, and Germany. She was predeceased by her five siblings. A faithful parishioner of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church and a devoted member of the Catholic Women’s League, Maria lived a life rooted in family, faith, and kindness. She spent her career in the dry-cleaning industry and, at times, shared her talents as a seamstress. She found joy in sewing, gardening, baking, canning, preserving, and preparing meals for those she loved. She also enjoyed crocheting, a gift she continued to share even after her stroke while living at Lundy Manor and later, at Millennium Trail Manor. Maria will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all whose lives she touched. Visitors will be received at BOCCHINFUSO FUNERAL HOME, 2 Regent Street, Thorold, on Sunday, June 28, 2026, from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 PM. Vigil prayers will be recited at 3:30 PM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, June 29, at 11:00 AM at OUR LADY OF THE HOLY ROSARY CHURCH, 21 Queen Street South, Thorold. Rite of Committal will follow at Lakeview Cemetery. If desired, donations to SickKids Foundation or to a charity close to your heart in Maria’s memory would be appreciated. Online condolences may be left at www.Bocchinfusofh.com

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff at Lundy Manor, where Mom spent 11 years, and to the staff at Millennium Trail Manor, for the care, kindness, and compassion shown to her.
