IORIO, MARIA (née D’Alessandro) – Surrounded by the love of her family, peacefully, on Wednesday, January 28, 2026 at Greater Niagara General Hospital just after her 94th birthday. Beloved wife of the late Natale (2022) for more than 72 years. Dear mother to Pasquale and Gianni, predeceased by her son Tony in 2024. Proud Nonna to Michelle (Chris Medland) and Christopher. Cherished Grande Nonna to Frank. Maria will be fondly remembered by her nephew Nick (Angie), their sons David and Michael, and her nephew Jim. She is predeceased by her parents Antonio and Amelia D’Alessandro, her sister Domenica (Clemente) of Thorold and her niece Sylvia. Maria found great joy in gardening and was fondly known for her tomatoes and figs. Her life was a testament to strength and perseverance, as she faced and overcame many health challenges, including ovarian cancer in 2002 and later breast cancer. Visitors will be received at BOCCHINFUSO FUNERAL HOME, 2 Regent Street, Thorold on Sunday, February 1, 2026 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Vigil prayers recited at 4:30 PM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at OUR LADY of THE HOLY ROSARY CHURCH, 21 Queen Street South, Thorold on Monday, February 2 at 11:30 AM. Rite of Committal Lakeview Cemetery.
