DiCOSTANZO, MARIA (née D'Epiro)- Peacefully, at Niagara Health Marotta Family Hospital on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, just after her 94th birthday. Beloved wife of the late Giuseppe Di Costanzo for 58 years. Dedicated mother of Robert (Tracy) DiCostanzo and Carmen (William) Bosnich. Nina to Jacob and Matthew. Maria is survived by her sisters-in-law Maria D’Epiro and Phyllis DiCostanzo, but predeceased by her parents Antionio and Lucrezia, her brothers Cosmo and Mario (Franca) and her brother-in-law Giovanni. Zia Maria will be fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews and her extended family in Italy. Maria was a devoted parishioner at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church in Thorold, but even in her teenage years showed her devotion, teaching the children of her parish in Italy the catechism for first communion and confirmation. Maria immigrated to Canada December 8, 1956 and was proud of her heritage, but just as proud to be a Canadian – taking the time to teach her grandsons O Canada and singing it proudly whenever the occasion called for it. Maria had a beautiful voice, and loved to sing, especially at Mass. Dedicating her flower garden to be “God’s Garden” she never was far from her Saviour. Friends will be received at the BOCCHINFUSO FUNERAL HOME, 2 Regent Street, Thorold, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Friday, June 5, 2026. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, 21 Queen Street South, Thorold, at 1:30 PM. Rite of Committal at Lakeview Cemetery. If desired, memorial donations to the Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church Building Fund would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences may be made at www.bocchinfusofh.com
