Luigi Battista

Battista, Luigi "Gino" ~ at the St. Catharines General Hospital, on Sunday, November 13, 2011 at the age of 70. Gino was born in Castropignano, Italy, came to Canada at the age of 15 on July 5, 1957. Beloved husband of 26 years to Marilyn (Buscemi) Battista. Predeceased by his son David Michael (1984). Loving step father of John Andrews. Grandpa will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his grandchildren David Andrews and Lindsey Andrews. Predeceased by parents Fiore and Maria Battista, parents-in-law Joseph and Antoinette Buscemi and brother Ernesto Battista (2004). Survived by brothers-in-law Leonard (Virginia) Buscemi of Florida and Joseph (Karen) Buscemi of Niagara Falls, New York. Gino is also survived by several nieces, nephew and great nieces and nephews. He worked Johnson Matthey Ltd. For 41 years, retiring in 1997. Gino was a member of the Thorold Seniors, the West St. Catharines Seniors, Port Dalhousie Seniors and Club Belvedere, Thorold and was parishioner of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, Thorold. A special thank you to Rocky and Donna Venditti and their family for all their compassion, kindness and support shown to Marilyn for all that she has gone through.
