Lucy Scobie

Scobie, Lucy (nee Maddalena) ~ It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our dear "Auntie Lu" on April 18, 2010. Lucy was born on June 14, 1943 in Castropignano, Italy to the late Domenico and Antonietta Maddalena. She emigrated to Canada with her family in 1950 and embraced Canada and the people around her with a warm and loving heart. Lucy began her career as a nursing aide and retired as a physiotherapy assistant. She dedicated 40 years of service to the Greater Niagara General Hospital. Our beloved Auntie Lu will be sadly missed by her partner Duncan Caldwell, his three children and grandchildren. She will also be missed by her six sisters, Filomena (Assuntino) Bozza, Maria (Clemente) Conte, Grazia (the late Matteo) Cugino, Nancy (Wallace) Gordon, Joanne Marchionda, Josephine (Antonio) Mauriello, her eleven nieces and nephews, and nine great nieces and nephews. Auntie Lu lit up a room with her smile, she loved life and her family was her greatest pride and joy. She was well loved and will be greatly missed by all her family and friends. The family would like to thank all the staff of GNGH especially Unit D for their attentive care and support. We extend special thank to Dr. Dargavel for his care and compassion.
