Lorna Dorward

DORWARD, LORNA R. August 22, 1932 - June 9, 2025

It is with great sadness our family announces the death of Lorna Ruth Dorward (née Green) on June 9, 2025 at the age of 92. Lorna is lovingly remembered by her children Steve (Deanna), Mike (Kimberly) and Ann (Steve); her grandchildren: Melissa, Shane, Keyanna, Kenzie, Christine, Emily, Grace and Graham; and her great-grandchildren: Declan and Marin. Lorna is predeceased by her husband of 66 years, George, her sister Molly, and her parents, Margaret and William Green.

Lorna always had a head for numbers and at age sixteen she went to work for Barclay's Bank. Lorna and George were married in England in 1954, subsequently emigrating to St. Catharines in 1957 where they raised their family. As the child-rearing years concluded, Lorna took a job in the accounting department at Sears, which she loved. Lorna walked to work each day until she got her driver's license. Her first car was a 1964 Corvair.

Lorna loved cooking and making sure people were fed. Her kitchen was always full of good things to eat, and she shared her skills at social events hosted by friend groups and her church community, St. James Anglican Church. A kind and generous woman, she will be greatly missed.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service to celebrate her life will be arranged for a future date. Memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, and may be left along with online condolences at www.bocchinfusofh.com
