CELIMA, LIBERATA “BETTY” (Nee Perri)

Betty passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at The Meadows of Dorchester. She was 85 years old.

Betty was the devoted wife of Anthony Celima for 66 wonderful years. She was a loving mother to Joe (Ann Mantini-Celima), Sandra (Sean Patricio), and Mary Ann Celima. She was a cherished Nana to her grandsons Andrew (Kristen) and Jack. Betty was the dear sister of Santino (Nikki) Perri.

She was predeceased by her parents Santo and Emilia Perri, stepmother Rosina Perri, sister Giuseppina Innocentin, and brother-in-law Dante.

Betty was a woman of deep faith and an active member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church and the Italian Catholic Women’s League. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures: dancing with Tony at dinner dances, cooking and baking for loved ones, tending to her beloved rose garden, and taking two-hour power walks with friends after dinner. Above all, she treasured time spent with her family and grandsons.

Known for her radiant smile, Betty maintained her infectious laughter and joyful spirit until her final days.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 17, 2025 from 5:00-8:00 PM at Bocchinfuso Funeral Home, 2 Regent Street, Thorold. Vigil Prayers will be recited 7:30 PM.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, August 18, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 21 Queen Street, Thorold. Rite of Committal to follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
