MACMULLIN, Bernard Lawrence Passed away peacefully after a long courageous battle with cancer surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, September 15, 2016, at the age of 59. Lawrence was the loving and devoted husband of Catherine. Beloved hero of a father to his only daughter, Melissa (Trish). Pre-deceased by his mother, Mary Ulden MacMullin, father John Michael MacMullin, baby brother, little Elmer, and sister, Emma Wallace. Survived by his brothers, Tom (Brenda) Jeffries, Joe (Theresa) MacMullin, Michael (Maxine) MacMullin and sisters, Joanne (Ivo) Patterson Dowling, Helen Dinner, Margaret McKelvey, Marie (Dave) MacDougall and Theresa (Anton) Malnar. Born in Sydney Mines, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Lawrence worked as a chief cook for Canada Steamship Lines for 35 years - his last ship was the Laurentien. Lawrence had a one-of-a-kind sense of humour, known for his big heart, devotion to his family and friends, willingness to help and for his ability to make everyone smile. Lawrence loved old cars, horses as well as frequenting auctions, flea markets and yard sales. He will be sadly missed by his great-niece Holly, godson Travis, sister-in-law Denise MacPherson and his second family at the Sunrise Cafe. Special thank you to the Oncology Department of the Walker Family Cancer Centre at St. Catharines General Hospital and to family physician, Dr. Douglas Ralph. In accordance with Lawrence's wishes cremation has taken place, which has been arranged by BOCCHINFUSO FUNERAL HOME. A Celebration of Life will take place on Sunday, October 2nd from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Bethany Community Church, in the Fireside Hall, 1388 Third St., St. Catharines. In lieu of flowers and as an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to Make-a-Wish Canada. Online condolences may be made at www.bocchinfusofh.com
