Josephine Derose

DeRose, Josephine ~ peacefully, at the Welland County General Hospital on Friday, August 19, 2011 at the age of 90. Beloved wife of the late Anthony DeRose (1995). Loving mother of Jeanne (David) Langhorne, Ellen (Trevor) Kerr, Sam (Cherie) DeRose, Anthony "Tony" (Donna) DeRose, and the late Mary-Jo (1974). Nana will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Kate, Tess, Patrick, Margaret, Ian (Dannon), Samantha (Chad), Emily (Josh), Victoria, Stephen and by great-grandchildren Mathew, Juliana, Connor, Kyle and Grayson. Predeceased by her parents Luigi and Raphaella Covello and by her siblings Oscar, Alfred, Carmen (survived by Agnes), Thomas and Rudy (survived by Lena). Josephine was actively involved in her husband's businesses as office manager for Anthony DeRose Limited and DeRose Ready Mix. She loved spending her winters in Florida, having her feet in the sand, playing shuffleboard, golfing, discussing politics and especially cooking for family and friends. She was a devoted wife and mother. She was very generous to family and friends and enjoyed being around people. She loved to make people laugh with her great sense of humour.
