Kish, Joseph George "Joe" (February 23, 1944-July 6, 2012) ~ It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our dear husband, father and grandfather, at home on Friday, July 6, 2012. Beloved husband and best friend of Terry (Whittall) Kish. Joe and Terry celebrated 48 years of marriage on July 3, 2012. Unconditional loving father to his three sons Joe Jr. (Halifax), Jason (Maria) of St. Catharines and Jeremy (Calgary). "Grandpa Joe" was a proud grandfather to his one and only Kali. Joe will be sadly missed by many relatives, friends and especially his card playing partner, May Reid. Joe was born and raised in St. Catharines. He worked at General Motors for 30 years and was a volunteer driver for the Canadian Cancer Society for many years. Joe was an avid sports enthusiast. Throughout his entire life, he was involved with sports. Whether it be, him playing, coaching or refereeing, you could always find Joe at the rink, on the baseball field or on the golf course. He played CYO, Junior B, and Junior A hockey. Joe then moved onto the American Eastern League, Niagara Senior Division before settling his career with the Old Timers Hockey League. He continued to referee many hockey divisions throughout the Niagara Region. Joe coached both men and ladies baseball teams within St. Catharines. However, his passion became his golf game. He was a first class golfer and long time member of Beechwood Golf and Country Club.
