IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Elie
Ferron
December 8, 1938 – February 18, 2026
FERRON, JOSEPH, ELIE - With heavy hearts our family share the sudden but peaceful loss of Elie at the age of 87, at Niagara Health Marotta Family hospital, surrounded with the love of his family on Wednesday, February 18, 2026.
Elie was married to his best friend Stella for 63 years. Loving father to Jackie, Roger (Jennifer) and Ginette. Dear Grandpa to Becca, Nicole, Kristen, Lucas and Nathan. Elie is survived by his younger sister Alexina and his best friend from childhood, Raymond.
Elie was loved and respected by so many that knew him. He is well known in the music community as a beautiful self-taught guitar player and vocalist with many memories jamming at the old Thorold Music store with his buddies. Elie often repaired various string instruments for his own enjoyment. He had an incredible ear and mindset that allowed him to repair structure and sound.
Born Joseph Elie Ferron, he was known throughout his life simply as Elie. He was the second youngest of fifteen children raised on Shippagan Island, New Brunswick. Our family has always enjoyed the love story of Elie and Stella, and how they took a leap of faith in coming to Ontario for a stronger future together and to raise a family. Mom still talks about how handsome he was and how he looked like Elvis.
Dad was a brilliant man, despite receiving only an 8th grade education. He applied his strengths to becoming a fine carpenter, a trade in which he excelled. His work ethic was impeccable, modelling that to those he worked with and everyone who knew him. He was a masterful craftsman in both carpentry and fine woodwork, consistently impressing us with his remarkable skill and unwavering precision.
Elie loved early morning fishing with his nephews along the Niagara River. This spot was pretty special to him. Our family will always cherish the bond he had with each of us and the beautiful stories he shared coming from such a large family facing poverty. Our Dad was built with love and resilience that had such an impact on us all. He was an incredible Dad and Grandpa who always put his family first. He will forever watch over the people in his life that he loved.
According to Elie’s wishes cremation has taken place and an intimate celebration of his life will be held at a later date. If desired, donations in Elie’s memory to the Canadian Mental Health Association or online condolences may be left at www.Bocchinfusofh.com
Many thanks to everyone who held us with such care during his time in the ER and on 4A. Our family would like to send special thanks to Dr. Dower Internal Medicine for following our Dad so closely and supporting our family with such grace. Also, many thanks to Spiritual Care Sara, helping our family navigate through a very difficult time.
