John Patterson Moncur

MONCUR, John Patterson – Much loved and missed by his family and many friends, John made friends easily in all stages of his life and devoted his life to his family. John came to Welland, Ontario in 1959 from Inverness Scotland, with his wife “Vi” Violet Catherine (Munro) and his infant daughter Karen. He began his career at Atlas Steel as a Millwright and Union Executive member for many years. Following this 30-year career at Atlas, John and Vi successfully operated the award-winning Glen Mhor Guest House in Niagara Falls for 10 years. John died after fighting a brief illness at the Niagara Health System – St. Catharines site, on Tuesday, January 4, 2022, in his 86th year. Husband of the late Vi (November 3, 1999). Dear father of Karen Moncur (Tracey) and Iain Ricketts-Moncur (Kathy). Loving grandpa to Graham (Maddie) and Jack. Uncle to Dave Munro (Vicki) and Stephen Moncur (Fiona). Private family arrangements have been concluded by the BOCCHINFUSO FUNERAL HOME, 2 Regent Street, Thorold.
