John William
Marshall
August 20, 1936 – April 23, 2026
MARSHALL, JOHN WILLIAM - It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our father, John “Mac” Marshall. After a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer, Dad passed peacefully at his residence on Thursday, April 23, 2026, surrounded by his family, just as he wished. Predeceased by the love of his life, Connie (née Doyle) (June 8, 2022), and by his daughter Tammy (February 8, 2022).
Dad worked for the St. Lawrence Seaway Authority beginning in 1957, working his way up from linesman to Traffic Superintendent before retiring in 1989. In the mid-1960s, he drove and owned a taxi, and he also worked for Shelvock Dairy in various roles, including driving the milk tanker and processing milk. He even took on snowplowing Dad was always busy. One of his proudest accomplishments was researching and obtaining his Native Indian Status. The only son of the late Laverne “Marty” C. and Violet Marshall, Mac leaves behind his children Bill (Jennifer), Debbie (Gary) Archer, Christine (Tim) Bartlett, and Mark (Tracey). He is the cherished grandfather of Kimberly (JR), Jacqueline (Jason) Clapp, and William (Erin), and the proud great-grandfather of Emily, Victoria, Taylor, Hudson, Tobias, Oliver, Lillith, and Nicole, as well as great-great-grandson Theodore. Following Mac’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and he will be laid to rest with Connie at Lakeview Cemetery at a later date. If desired, online donations to Community Care Thorold or the Canadian Cancer Society may be left along with online condolences at www.Bocchinfusofh.com
