John Henry Arthur

Arthur, John Henry "Uncle Jack" ~ passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, at the St. Catharines General Hospital, on Friday, November 20, 2009 at the age of 84. Beloved husband of the late Helen (Cosgrove) Arthur (1994). Dear brother of Gordon (Joan) and Allan (Shirley). Predeceased by sister Joyce and brother Russell. Uncle Jack was a devoted uncle to many nieces and nephews. Jack served proudly in WWII with the Stormont-Dundas and Glengarry Highlanders over in Holland. He was active in the Merritton Community, a devoted parishioner of St. Patrick's Church and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. #138, Merritton. He was an avid fisherman, golfer and was Santa Claus to many children. Jack was a proud veteran and friend to all who knew him. He truly will be missed. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses in the I.C.U. Ward for their care and compassion during this difficult time.
