Raimondo, Iolanda (DiPardo) ~ we announce with heavy hearts, that Iolanda, surrounded by her loving family, went to be in the arms of the Lord on Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at the age of 78. Beloved wife of 58 years to Antonio Raimondo. Loving mother of Dr. Emilio, M.D. (Anna Maria) Raimondo and Mary (Dr. Gord) Swatton. Nonna will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Alissa and Gianmarco Raimondo and Michael Swatton. Dear sister of Lina (the late Antonio) DiMichele of Italy, Guiseppina (Matteo) Vespa and Ida (Amedeo) Mastrangelo and sister-in-law of Giovanni (Onelia) Raimondo, Guiseppe (Concetta) Raimondo, Carmela (the late Frank) D'Amelio, Luigi (the late Maria) Iantomasi and the late Luigi and Addolorata Raimondo. Predeceased by parents Costanzo and Maria Costanza DiPardo. Iolanda will also be missed by many nieces and nephews. She enjoyed spending her time sewing and was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, Thorold. Our most sincere gratitude to the St. Catharines General Hospital, Community 3 East nursing staff and all the numerous therapists, nurses and doctors who took care of her throughout the years.Iolanda's family will receive their family and friends at the LAMB-BOCCHINFUSO FUNERAL HOME, 2 Regent St., Thorold on Thursday from 7-9 p.m. and Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 21 Queen St. S., Thorold on Saturday at 10 a.m. The Rite of Committal to follow at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Fonthill. Vigil prayers will be celebrated at the funeral home on Friday at 3 p.m. Memorial donations in memory of Iolanda to Lupus Canada would be appreciated by the family.
