DE FRANCESCA, IDA (née Altomare) - Our beloved Mom passed suddenly when we least expected, on the evening of September 10th, 2022. Predeceased in 2015 by her beloved husband, Demetrio. Predeceased by her mother and father, her brothers and her sister, Ida leaves behind her four daughters who loved her more than words can explain, Emily (Ron) Coyell, Fiorella (Tony) Trivieri, Tellie (Terry) Ronning and Anna Maria (Mike) Hanson. Mom will be dearly missed and never forgotten by Elsie Burgess who has been part of the family for many years. Nonna will be missed terribly by her grand-daughters who were known as “E belle e Nanna” - Tina-Marie (Jason), Terri-ann (Johnathan), Olivia, Isabella and Kelli, Tanya (Darryl). Bisnonna Ida will also be sadly missed by great-grandson Jaxon and her new great-grandson, Odin whom she was so happy to have met a few weeks ago. Mom also loved spending time with our family pets who kept her company when she was home alone. Gone to be by dad’s side and hold his hand, she also leaves loving sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, many nieces and nephews and extended family in Italy and in Canada who always spoke highly of mom. Our family invites friends and relatives to Bocchinfuso Funeral Home, 2 Regent Street, Thorold on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 -9:00 p.m. Vigil Prayers recited at 3:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, September 15, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church, 21 Queen Street South, Thorold. A special thanks to her PSWs, who spent time with her and gave her the care she needed, and Dr. T. Saliba and Dr. N. Pinilla. Donations in mom’s memory can be made to Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church or Hotel Dieu Shaver Hospital.
